City Visions - Vizije grada

City Visions – City Iconography II /1950 – 2000+

Design of a multimedia and interdisciplinary exhibition with more than 550 exhibits, 15 thematic groups and 275 artists on a 2000m2 in a Modern gallery.

Through more than 550 paintings and comic book drawings, posters and graphics, cartoons, objects, installations, art photography, video art and animated films organised into 15 thematic units, the exhibition sheds light on the motif of the city in the visual arts and communications. It also highlights the importance of the city as a motif, a poetic generator, a sociological and cultural-historical setting, as a space and place where artists themselves live and work.

Freewa – Free Water Project

Freewa - Free Water Project

Freewa project was entirely created in Studio Rašić+Vrabec and we are also one of the Freewa startup founders. We created core project concept, named it, designed Freewa bottle and bag and also Freewa visual identity. But what we are most proud off is that from something that was primarily considered to be just a touristic souvenir we reinvented to Mobile App and Web for mapping and locating world Free water sources. That’s how the project got its name. Free + Water. And of course, the Freewa mobile app is free and available to everyone

Freewa is completely produced in Croatia.

VAP – Verudela Art park

VAP - Verudela Art park

Design of the visual identity and totem poles (signalisation) at the park entrance.

VAP is an interdisciplinary and interactive sculpture park constructed next to the beautiful Verudela beach in Pula. Eight artists created seven attractive sculptures/installations inspired by clouds and their symbolic connotations of mobility and travel. The cloud motif was also the inspiration for the visual identity design. COR-TEN steel, used in the spatial design of the park, was chosen as the material for totem poles.

Chests of Drawers through the centuries

Chests of Drawers through the centuries

The exhibition presents the development of one of today’s most representative furniture from the 17th to 19th century. A total of 25 pieces furniture of different styles are exhibited at the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik and presented in elegant and minimalistic exhibition design.

Design task was to emphasize Chests artistic values and also to emphasize the skills of the cabinetmakers of the time. To achieve that we created a simple modular system of exhibition displays. For every Chest of Drawer display was tailored according to its dimension or significance. Exhibition lighting was designed to create the effect of “floating elegance”. A carefully cut text was mounted on each display to highlight the interesting story of every Chest of Drawer and also to point visitors to look for valuable ornaments on Chests.

Only one Chest of Drawer on this exhibition has the author’s signature and it’s hidden beneath the table. So this most important one was presented in a separate room with a specially illuminated display and that signature was printed on the wall to be visible. Because of its attractive shape, this one special Chest of Drawer was also used as a main visual. It made a great visual harmony with the minimalist logo that illustrates Chests of drawers in a most simple way.

Hillforts, Stone Mounds and Caves

Hillforts, Stone Mounds and Caves

Typographic installation is used in an exhibition design that presents and reveals so far unknown archaeological findings in the western Dubrovnik area.

The exhibition “Hillforts, Stone Mounds and Caves” is the results of archaeological explorations of exactly 769 hillforts, stone mounds, and caves that were all located, mapped and explored. Design task was to present the 35 most important ones in a very old and demanding exhibition space.

We used gigantic letters and simple geometrical elements to create a visual contrast between the old stone walls in the background and the exhibition displays. So letters Hillforts (GRADINE) and Stone Mounds (GOMILE) became typographic installations that are also exhibition displays.

The theme „Caves“ is presented by a spatial installation that gives visitors an experience like they are really passing through a Cave. This is achieved by narrowing installation towards the exit so the visitor can barely get through. Photos and texts about caves are printed on a specially illuminated material inside the installation.

Visual identity of the exhibition emphasizes the multiplicity of located sites and it was also consistently used in the exhibition design. Geometric elements from visual identity were used in exhibition space as spatial installations.

Medika and The Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb

Medika and The Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb

Every year one renowned Croatian artist is presented on the calendar we design for pharmaceutical company Medika. For 2018, we proposed a collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. One young artist was presented for each month and Calendar is designed like a tear-off poster. So every page after every month becomes an independent piece of graphic art.
